	Hi,

	I didn't receive mail notifications on topics I subscribed to since July 2024. I tried several measures, including changing mail address, was even in contact with <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://dev.avsim.com/profile/102198-bob-scott/?do=hovercard" data-mentionid="102198" href="https://dev.avsim.com/profile/102198-bob-scott/" rel="">@Bob Scott</a> who told me at a point about a software/configuration change, but nothing did help. I was not banned, I could mail, and I received notifications from other fora like the MSFS official fora and ORBX, just not AVSIM.
</p>

<p>
	I finally lost interest in AVSIM and - for some more reasons - in flight simulation in general.
</p>

<p>
	Now, out of  a sudden, I keep getting mail notifications again starting January 25. This message is to
</p>

<p>
	i) Inform those responsible that the measure they obviously took, has been successful,
</p>

<p>
	ii) Thank them cordially for working on this,
</p>

<p>
	iii) Telling those interested I might even start posting on AVSIM again,
</p>

<p>
	iv) Will make a donation towards AVSIM as an acknowledgement.
</p>

	I need to log in to the AVSIM Library for the AIG AI Manager to download things correctly, however i cannot register for the AVSIM library. Whenever I try to do this, all the feilds go blank as soom as i click "Register" I cannot log in with any credentials either. How do I get this working?

	The new and upgraded AVSIM changed your username if it was not the same as your Display Name.  When you logon, use your Display Name.
</p>

<p>
	Members who have problems signing into AVSIM will be locked out after three (3) failed attempts.  We usually reset the locked accounts within 24 hours but, members having issues signing in should contact us (click on the 'Contact Us' Tab above) and tell us you are having problems signing in.  We fully understand some members will forget their password and, when using the 'forgot password' option, they will have problems getting the password as the e-mail address they used to sign up is no longer in use.  We can fix these issues via the Support Inquiry forum.
</p>

<p>
	<strong>For Everyone</strong>:  If you do use our 'forgot password' system, an e-mail will be sent immediately to your registered e-mail address.  When you receive the e-mail, it is very important you start the logon process again by entering your username and then copying and pasting the password we sent you into the password box. Do not attempt to simply copy and paste the new password into a session where you already attempted to logon.  It will fail. 
</p>

<p>
	<strong>Do not attempt to set up another account if you have problems signing into your old account. </strong> Per the AVSIM Terms of Service, multiple accounts are not allowed and we will remove any duplicate accounts found.  If you do have another account here at AVSIM, you can use the 'Contact Us' form and we can remove the account or merge it with your other account(s).  Thank you for your cooperation!

	Woke up this morning and suddenly unable to reach Avsim from any computer or tablet in the house. All sorts of cache clearing, dns tomfoolery and etc proved futile, and now wondering if I am now part of some blocked ip range.

	Not wanting to spend all day fiddling with it, I dropped the subject.
</p>

<p>
	A few minutes ago, I joined some free, probably fly by night vpn and got through just fine, though still unable to access the site in any other way.
</p>

	Any suggestions?

	I'm having trouble logging in.  Each time I try it doesn't recognise my password or user name, which one is the problem I'm not sure.
</p>

	I then request a lost password email which arrives OK, then I create another password, log in OK but the next time I use it, it won't let me in.  An error message flashes up on the screen and then disappears so I have to request a new password email again.  I've done this about 5 times since yesterday!!!
</p>

	I'm using either an iPad or iMac.  Can you help please?

	Having an unusual problem: I need to update my signature; so I go into my user file, select ACCOUNT SETTINGS, then select SIGNATURE, the display image starts vibrating very rapidly. So I have not been able to select anything to modify once I select SIGNATURE. I am able to select any of the other menu selections in my ACCOUNT SETTINGS without getting this problem. Any suggestions what might be the problem?

	Hi guys, I've been forced to start a new account as it has been impossible to log into my original account, I'm fully aware of the rules but i don't see any other way out.

	Many members have not signed on for several months or years and their password is no longer valid.  Our "forgot password" feature will send a new password to your registered e-mail address and, if not received immediately, your registered e-mail address is probably no longer valid.  Just contact us and we will change your password and/or e-mail address for you so you can get logged on again as quickly as possible.

	When you create a new account, a validation e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address used in your registration.  We have seen many cases where the e-mail provider erroneously places the validation e-mail into the users junk/spam mail folder so please check that folder first for the validation e-mail.

	The validation e-mail was definitely sent.  Our system does not make mistakes.  The validation e-mail is either in your junk mail folder or you accidentally misspelled your e-mail address.  In this case, contact us using the form under the "Contact Us" tab above and ask for assistance.
</p>

<p>
	Please validate your account as soon as possible as new accounts that have not been validated<strong> after an hour or more will be removed </strong>and you will have to attempt to create the account again.

	If you cannot logon, you can use our "<strong>forgot password</strong>" feature when signing/logging on.  A new password will be immediately sent to your registered e-mail address so make sure you keep your e-mail address up-to-date.  If you do not receive the new password immediately (within 10-15 minutes), <strong>check your spam or junk mail folder</strong> for the e-mail.  If it is not in your spam or junk mail folder, then contact us via the form in the "Contact Us" menu above and indicate you have checked your spam and junk mail folder.  We will assist as soon as possible.  We recommend everyone add AVSIM.com and AVSIM.net as a trusted website or a safe sender in your e-mail program.
</p>

<p>
	<strong>Important! </strong> Many times members will request a new password, receive the e-mail with the new password, copy and paste the password into the password box, and their logon will still be unsuccessful.  They'll try this several times and, after 3 unsuccessful attempts, the account is locked and you will have to contact us to unlock your account.  The reason why entering the new password was not successful is the fact you must restart the whole logon process again after receiving your new password.  If you attempt to logon, request a new password, and copy and paste the new password in the box without starting the process from the beginning (i.e., entering your username again), the logon will fail 100% of the time.

	Members and potential members are reminded that the AVSIM Terms of Service (ToS) do not allow for multiple accounts (see the AVSIM ToS, link located under Forums menu).  If a multiple account is discovered, it will be merged with the oldest account or, in some cases deleted (i.e., duplicate accounts found while validating or the duplicate account was never used and there are no posts).  You will not be notified of the action taken in most cases as we do not have the manpower to provide the notification. 
</p>

<p>
	Current members can send me a PM or use the form in the "Contact Us" menu above if they know they have a duplicate account and want to have the accounts merged.
</p>

<p>
	I have found that most members set up duplicate accounts when they -
</p>

<ul>
<li>
		forgot their username/password
	</li>
	<li>
		did not receive a validation e-mail immediately after creating an account or no validation e-mail received
	</li>
	<li>
		successfully validated their account but could not sign in
	</li>
	<li>
		inadvertently misspelled their e-mail address
	</li>
	<li>
		have an IP address that our system has identified as one used for spamming worldwide.  These accounts are immediately banned by our system and any subsequent attempts to create an account using the IP address, username, or e-mail address will not be successful.
	</li>
</ul>
<p>
	If you forgot your password/username, please report the issue using the form under "Contact Us" in the Menu above.  The same goes if you successfully validated your account but could not sign in.  We will assist you.  Please provide as much information as possible to help us find your old account such as possible usernames and e-mail addresses you might have used to set up the account.
</p>

<p>
	If you do not immediately receive a validation e-mail from our system, it could have been sent to your junk mail folder.  Check.  If you own more than one e-mail address, check that e-mail account too as you may have used that e-mail address but forgot.  If you still have not received your validation e-mail, use the "Contact Us" form in the menu above and we will assist.

	If we see a misspelled e-mail address (i.e., gmial.com instead of gmail.com) we will correct it and resend your validation e-mail so that you can receive your validation e-mail but that will not always be the case.  Contact us if you suspect a misspelled e-mail address.

	Individuals who post <strong>fake e-mail addresses</strong> so they can create multiple accounts will be banned or their accounts removed.
