<p>
	Hi,
</p>

<p>
	I want to update the navigation database on the Carenado/Alabeo DA42, but I can't seem to. I tried using a Carenado airac update exe file, and this has updated the database under 'CarenadoNavigraph' folder within my P3D core folder, however the aircraft MFD still shows a 2016 AIRAC. I reached out to Carenado on their support page and they said 'This aircraft doesn't integrate Navigraph, DA62 does' and that 'they believe there is a way [to update the nav database] but they don't know how' and suggesed 'going to the forums'....does anyone have any insight into how I might be able to update it? Thankyou in advance.
</p>

<p>
	Regards,
</p>

	Hi everyone!
</p>

<p>
	I've just discovered that Carenado released SVS G1000 for all their equipped G1000 aircraft. Therefore, we can enjoy a close-to-real G1000 as we should after many years of waiting,

<p>
	Is Alabeos aircraft (DA42... ecc) able to run that G1000 previously mentioned?

<p>
	Ever since flying the DA-42 I felt it was underpowered. Indeed, Alabeo modelled the engines on the Thielert 1.7 Litre units at the start of the DA-42's production run in 2004.
</p>

<p>
	Real world it didn't take long for feedback to get to Diamond that the engines were word not allowed poor. Then Thielert went out of business and Diamond tried Lycoming for a bit before finally settling on Austro Turbo 300's which the current DA-42 IV are equipped with. Much faster and leaner burning and make this bird a joy to fly.
</p>

<p>
	I tweaked the aircraft.cfg as I flew around the World. It essentially "upgrades" the engines from the Alabeo modelled Thielert 1.7 Litre (under-powered) to the current Austro Turbo 300. It ups the power quite a lot - you can achieve level flight a few knots down from Vne. I tweaked the cruise scalars and thrust and drag to represent the aerodynamic cleanup of cowlings and flush rivet heads that Diamond did for the IV together with the new propeller design done in 2012.
</p>

<p>
	Bear in mind that with just you in the cockpit (solo) you won't need full power on TO - as in real Twin Star IV. You and three passengers and a load of luggage - full power.
</p>

<p>
	Power should be applied on gaining altitude to give you realisitic KIAS's/ fuel consumption at cruise heights with power set between 70 - 84 %. Read the notes for the real thing.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	PM me for a link to the Drop Box file.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Obviously don't forget to backup your original aircraft.cfg (rename it something like aircraftBACKUP.cfg and substitute this one.)
</p>

<p>
	And the usual: Use at your own risk. Although it works well for me on my own system I take no responsibility for your use of this file, any damage caused or financial loss.
</p>

<p>
	Enjoy,
</p>

<p>
	I would appreciate it if someone could let me know generally how to program the DA42 for a flight plan - not doing it manually. In one of the videos on YouTube it mentions that PlanG software can be used to create the plan, but there is another video suggesting that it would follow a plan entered into Prepar3d!

<p>
	Hello!
</p>

<p>
	I am a newcomer to the Alabeo DA42 on P3Dv4, and I am happy with it so far with the exception of the autopilot having a mind of its own. I have reviewed all pertinent topics on this board but none seem to find a solution except to reset the gyro drift. I am familiar with the gyro drift influences, and I have it disabled.
</p>

<p>
	On my first flight, the autopilot would not do anything besides bank 60+ degrees left and right, even with no roll mode engaged. I tried pressing 'D' to reset the heading gyro just to be safe. No effect. I ended up handflying the flight since nothing I could do would get the autopilot to do what I wanted it to.
</p>

<p>
	On my second flight, the autopilot worked flawlessly.
</p>

<p>
	On my third flight, the autopilot behaved as it did in the first flight.
</p>

<p>
	I began all three flights using the same default flight with no slew used. I am at a loss as to what affects whether or not the autopilot functions properly.
</p>

<p>
	Hopefully someone with more hours in this product has some tips.
</p>

<p>
	Thanks,<br />
	Derek

<p>I fly the FSX C172 with the MindStar G1000 in P3dv3 and get excellent FPS (57-60) vsync enabled, unlimited settings. When I fly the DA42 (stock) I get FPS (57- 60).<br /><br />I was able to implement the MindStar G1000 into the DA42 and also get great FPS (57- 60) on the runway. I take off and still get the same FPS until about 1,000 feet into climbing the FPS drops to 32 - 40. I noticed the PFD altitude indicator is causing the FPS problem in this aircraft, as the number change the FPS remain low until I reach whatever altitude, the FPS goes back up to 57 - 60. This does not happen with the C172.  Anyone have experience as to what it could be, maybe a gauge conflict?</p>

<p>Must be the D42 not supporting the MindStar G1000.</p>

	I´m having an issue (well, several actually, but this is the most critical at the moment). When I have the AP in HDG mode, the plane will violently bank left and right past the selected heading, never actually settling on the set heading. If for instance I set the heading bug 180 degree left or right of the heading I´m flying, it will continue to roll until I reach an angle beyond 60 degree, and I have to take over to save the airplane.
</p>

<p>
	I can´t see anyone else having this issue, so there might be something wrong with my settings. I´m using P3D4 and AS16 btw.

<p> </p>
<p>While we are at it, just a list, not sorted by any priorities:</p>
<ul><li>no yaw damper (<span style="color:#0000ff;">cleared item</span>, the KAP equipped planes didn't have that)</li>
<li>a <strong>flight director</strong> <em>shouldn't</em> be available (on KAP140 eq. planes), but it is (can be disabled in the aircraft.cfg)</li>
<li>
<strong>rudder trim knob</strong> and indicator are reversed</li>
<li>
<strong>G1000 transponder</strong> setting always is on, no GND or other modes available</li>
<li>
<strong>G1000 PFD popup</strong> uses the wrong 'suction' source (same as stdby instruments) whereas the VC G1000 PFD is correctly unaffected by any 'suction' loss.</li>
<li>
<strong>G1000/KAP140</strong> no altitude alert sound</li>
<li>
<strong>de-ice system</strong>, <strike>panel labelled with 'no smoking</strike>', aircraft.cfg setting states NO anti-ice system at all on that plane, panel pumps (which should pump de-ice fluid) are bound to <em>fuel</em> pump commands, no anti-ice modes (mainly pumping actions) available, system is always off</li>
<li>
<strong>autopilot</strong>, popup gauge has 'FD' button, VC does not. As previously explained, there's no FD on the real KAP140 eq. plane, so the VC is correct.</li>
<li>
<strong>wrong fuel type</strong> as per aircraft.cfg, the plane runs the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thielert_Centurion" rel="external">Thielert Centurion</a> engines which consume Diesel or JetA, not Avgas as the cfg says.</li>
</ul><p> </p>
<p>Only P3D related:</p>
