Hey! Just wanted to share a tool we built for helicopter pilots in MSFS 2024.

FWX Rotor Haptic Engine reads your rotor RPM via SimConnect and generates real rotor impulse feedback for ButtKicker and bass shaker setups. You actually feel the rotor blades spinning in your seat. Works with the EC135, auto-detects your audio device, and starts automatically with MSFS via exe.xml.

We also have a Sound Enhancement Pack that replaces all stock EC135 sounds with 33 custom engine and rotor WAV files, if anyone is interested.

	Hello all.

Looking for some guidance on most robust controls for a cockpit setup. I'm guessing everything is USB these days (but perhaps there's something else out there; i.e., brake-out boxes with proprietary connectors, etc). But something durable and robust, that it pretty close to the real thing.

	Thanks

I've started flying the Dreamfoil Creations Bell 407 in XPlane 11, and I tell you, I don't think I'll go back to fixed wings.

Anyway, I found this excellent tutorial online. Funny, but it's by the people at Terminal Reality's Fly!. It brought back memories. I got my first copy of the sim free at oskkosh as part of public release. Pretty cool then. I think it marked my first attempt at scenery design, and, if I'm not mistaken, there were tools to download road data for VFR flying.

So, here's the tutorial. Hope you find it helpful.

Just bought the Aerosoft Huey X and it's proving a humbling experience! On takeoff, I cannot keep it straight. Even with full left petal, the nose tracks right while the aircraft moves left. It takes a fair amount of forward cyclic and gaining some airspeed to get it to straighten out. Same thing on landing. As I get below 30ish knots, it wants to slowly rotate right. Don't seem to have enough petal authority to keep it tracking straight. Any suggestions? I'm keeping the power around 1.5-2.0 on the torque gauge. Thanks!

I am seriously looking at purchasing the Nemeth Eurocopter EC-135 (FSX) but I don't know whether it will work

properly with FSX (SP2). I don't have Acceleration installed.

I have searched but can't find anything definitive to running specifically with FSX and SP2 on a Windows 7 system. I run CeraSim 212 and 222B without problem. The requirement states "FSX only" (Acceleration is not indicated as a pre-requiste) but not sure whether "FSX only" includes SP2.

If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

MH-53J (Virtavia), CH-53A (Virtavia), CH-53E (Nemeth Designs) or CH-53E (freeware surclaro.com)?

Seems to have been an issue since installing the RAZBAM Harrier model. Seems that the helicopters are being seen as the harrier since turning with pedals is the only thing it will let me do to turn on yaw axis. I feel that the helicopters have taken on the Harrier characteristics. It comes and goes because sometimes will behave normally for a few minutes and then back to the Harrier like behavior especially with the tendency to pitch up abruptly with back stick pressure. The Harrier does this also if you pull back on the stick a little to much during takeoff since the duct angles control up and down. They are controlled by the prop pitch handle which are fully up on helicopters before takeoff. Anyone else had this issue in the past?

HTR - A revolutionary Module...
I want know what helicopter model is more real to the real life, in terms of flight model and dynamics...

I have the Dodosim 206 FSX, also the DCS Huey and XP10 with Dreamfoil 206 and BK117.

What do you think? Also I'm interested in how real is HTR for FSX. The new Milviz 407 OS very very promising if they get a real flight model.

Two helicopters, exactly the same in weight, type rotor speed, etc. have entered an autorotation. One has no wind and one has a 20 knot headwind. Which one would reach the ground first?

Hi All,

New to FSX (and sims for that matter), is there a realistic EC145 add-on that has "working" overhead panel, gauges, switches, gps, autopilot and controls? I'd like to do everything from start-ups, takeoff, emergency procedures, instrument approaches, landing and shutdown. Is there such an animal out there?

I am interested in purchasing a helicopter that offers both a relatively high cruising speed and great maneuverability. I am looking at three choices: NemethDesign MD 902, Milviz AW 109 and Cera's 412.

I fly with a CH yoke and pedals.

I value the views and opinions of my fellow simmers on AVSIM and so I would really appreciate any suggestions, opinions, and recommendations.

Finally, since I use FSX and have installed Orbx's scenery packages and airports covering the PNW/BC/Alaska area, that is where I will use this aircraft the most.

Thanks very much for your input!
