Has anyone figured out how to add an aftermarket radio/gps in the space that is taken up by the COM1/NAV1 radio?

Using the control panel, I can remove this radio... but I have not found a way of installing another gauge in it's place.

Hi, On a couple of occasions I have issues with the ailerons. Sometimes they wont move or are stuck on full right deflection. Sometimes they are fine. I have re calibrated the controls - joystick and yoke - I have restarted the aircraft (which sometimes helps) . It seems to be when the engine is running as a full control check with the engine off seems fine. Any ideas?

	Hi All,

I've recently purchased the Logitech Throttle Quadrant and I'm having difficulty in calibrating the propeller control lever with the AC 11 Commander 114 in P3D v4.

As I pull the lever aft the RPM gauge needle lowers abruptly and jerky by a few hundred rpm. The rpm needle motion isn't smooth and the aircraft nose pitches up slightly.

Is it an issue peculiar to this aircraft? Or can someone suggest an ideal calibration setting(s) for the lever in SPAD.next or P3D to gain smooth movement of the rpm gauge needle. The throttle and mixture levers are both fine.

	Regards Darren.

Hi all. I am fairly experienced with FSX Gold on Windows 10. When I click on the included GPS in the center stack of the panel, my computer freezes before closing FSX and then reopening it to the main screen. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Does anyone know how to remedy it?

Time to Soup It Up!

Hi everyone.

I come from a flying family.. been in lots of planes, did allot of flying. My oldest brother is perhaps one of the best pilots in the world.. and of course that is biased.. but the dude was born to fly. Sadly, time has caught up with us, and our flying years have been over for a few years now... well allot of years. We had talked seriously about buying a plane, but as things went on.. ya know... dad wanted slow, bro wanted fast, kids wanted cool, etc... it fell through. I bring this up because the plane we were looking for was right in front of us the entire time... The Commander 114. Before Carenado sold this plane, I had no idea the thing even existed! How crazy is that?? We were flying every weekend during the time this craft was new and in production... how we missed it is unreal (We had Cessna and Grumman fever back then).

It fits the bill... why this craft never became a major seller is a complete "#####?" for me. It's fast (for the time), it had the biggest cabin, it was easy, easy, easy to fly. It had a simple panel.. Man what a sleeper! (to use a hot rod term). I think it's one of the best looking planes out there... even by today's standards! AND... it's not plastic! (Just a little rub for the glue and fiberglass junkies out there).

The good news is... they are slated to go back into production... Commander 115's will be rolling out again... but those prices will be well out of my reach these days.

Ok, Ok... stop rambiling!

I have just completed, and tested, the 114TC mod (TURBO CHARGED!), and this "big block chevy" monster will make you giggle with it's real world performance.

30 inch - 2200 RPM - 15.5 GPH Fuel Flow. 11,000 ft ISA no winds will yield about 170 Knts average. WTFO is allot faster! (But you'll burn up the heads). 1,500 fpm climb rates for as long as you practically want.

90 gallons of marvelously over priced AV Gas to take you about 1000 NM's.

It may be the perfect "everyman" VOR platform out there... well next to the Legacy... but there is only room for two and a backpack in that rocket... and it's "Experiential"... Plastic... with no Turbo.

----

Bottom line; Ok... not going to kill myself like I did for the Baron TC. This is going to be simple. No repaints, and thankfully, no gauge changes (They just stuck a TIO-540-AG1A in the 114, the VNE stayed the same, and the engine specs on MAP and RPM stayed the same... just more power and altitude... 25,000 ft). I'll supply the AIR, and CFG files, and you will supply the plane. Copy paste, and you'll have a fleet of 114TC's separate from your regular 114's.

I have to secure the OK from Stolle and Carenado, and it'll be another Avsim exclusive.

Stay Tuned.

I have been asked by a user to take a look at the Century autopilot... and am finding that the Heading and Pitch switches appear to be interlocked and fighting each other. If I push Heading with Pitch ON, it switches OFF and if I push Pitch with Heading ON, it switches off.

Has anyone looked at this, and possibly found a workaround?

Just a quick Q to anyone who owns the above mentioned plane..Does the ADF work in the CC 114? There's a number there, and an /off button (which functions)..Can't seem to get the numbers to change though.

The real manual for the Century III says that it can do it as an option. It seems that Carenado did not model this and was wondering if there was a way to get it to do it. The aircraft cfg under radios says glide slope is available for the nav 1 radio. If this is not an option then has anyone got a nice install of another autopilot. Thanks in advance.

GPS Pop-up Panel

Hi,

Does anyone know how to modify the panel to make the GPS pop-up panel appear as a separate window on top of the VC? In my case, the VC window shrinks vertically and the GPS panel appears below it. I can resize the VC window, but it is annoying doing this every time I want to bring up the GPS.

Also, is it possible to move the radio positions in the VC? I guess I can backup my panel and give it a shot.

Thanks,

I know it's a cardinal sin to resurrect old threads but my question relates to this thread: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/348679-elevator-question-on-114/ which never got properly answered.

What I find is that the aircraft seems to be glued to the runway and then suddenly comes 'unstuck' with a lurch skywards! I can't think that would be right. It's the same landing, doesn't want to land..then, plonk! Any opinions on this that you'd care to share?

Cheers Ron

Folks. I'm starting this thread to get a list of found issues with this aircraft so that we can help our friends at Carenado address them. This IS NOT the place to bash the aeroplane or the company, so keep this thread on topic... please. So with the above being said please, if you can, add to the issues I have found so far so that we can give the chaps at Carenado an informed list of things that need addressed.Issues

The elevator is way too sensitive to me more than I would like. I played around with a few numbers in the aircraft cfg. Elevator effectiveness, high alpha, and I think pitch. I would like to know if there is a patch out there or if not, what should I set these numbers to and what parameters would I change exactly. I never flew the 114 but it seems off. It's like flying a piece of balsa wood when I push or pull the yoke....if that's a good example? I do notice a slight improvement from what I did, but did not know if lowering or raising the numbers....which will dampen the effect so it is not too sensitive? The roll feels great, just the pitch is the problem. Thanks for your help. I hope I made sense.
